Thus are the exotic visions evoked by the precious gemstone - Jade.

To the Chinese, for thousands of years, Jade was the Stone of Heaven. They treasured Jade beyond any other material. Someone, somewhere, lost in the mists of time, realized that Jade made a better tool than anything else ever had.

Artifacts show that the Chinese had a fully developed reverence for jade at least 5,000 years ago, perhaps preceded by 3,000 years of use.

Today’s industrialized societies can choose what will make the most effective tools, weapons, and art from a host of metals, plastics, glass, minerals and other materials. Imagine living in prehistoric times when the options were limited to stone, wood, crystals and other naturally occurring materials.

When people first began using Jade, metal had not yet been worked. Although Jade is a gemstone, because of its characteristics, Jade had many of the benefits of metal. Jade is beautiful, valuable, durable and rare - it was destined for jewelry. Jade, without doubt, is a wonderful gemstone.
